Welcome to your Switch-E

The E-kit turns your Switch+ into a Switch-E. Here is what you got, and what the parts are called.

Charge it before you go outYour PaceSync arrives about 30% charged. You can try everything in this guide as it is, but charge it fully before you actually go out on the course. How to charge is in the last chapter.

Know the names

Your Switch-E, part by part

These are the names we use in the videos, the app and the manual. Tap a number to see what each part does.

Switch on the 3D view to see where each part sits, or pick a part below.

Not shown in 3D: the remote (see Driving tips), the charger and the Torx key.

Also in the box
  • Battery charger
  • 2× M5 Torx screws
  • E-Wheel cover
  • Torx key (T25)

Based on the Kaddey E-kit Owner’s Manual. Always read the full manual before use.

Switch+ becomes Switch-E

Nine steps, no special tools beyond the Torx key in the box. You only do this once.

Left and rightLeft and right are always seen from behind the trolley, as you stand when you push it.

Step by step

  1. Remove the manual wheelarms

Remove the manual wheelarm and the extension tube on both sides. Not all trolleys have extension tubes. If yours doesn’t, skip that part.

Tip Store them in the E-Wheelarm box.

    Manual p. 16
A manual wheelarm being slid out of the frame arm.
  2. Install the E-Nocks

Slide the right E-Nock (marked R) over the right frame arm. Line the screw hole of the E-Nock up with the hole nearest the frame, hole A. Repeat with the left E-Nock (marked L).

Tip Your trolley might not have hole B. That doesn’t affect installation.

    Manual p. 17
An E-Nock sliding over the frame arm towards hole A.
  3. Install the E-Wheelarms

Take the right E-Wheelarm (marked R). Press in the spring ball, then slide it fully into the right frame arm until the ball clicks into place. Repeat for the left.

    Manual p. 18
The right E-Wheelarm sliding into the frame arm, with the spring ball highlighted.
  4. Secure the nocks and wheelarms

Line up the holes as in step 2. When they are aligned, you can see the screw thread of the E-Wheelarm through the hole. Insert an M5 Torx screw with the Torx key. Repeat on the other side.

Important Tighten the screws firmly so they don’t loosen during use. It also keeps the kit stable and discourages theft.

    Manual p. 19
An M5 Torx screw being tightened through the E-Nock into the E-Wheelarm.
  5. Attach the E-Wheels

Press the push pin between the spokes of the rim. Slide the wheel over the axle of the E-Wheelarm and release the pin. Turn the wheel until the locking pegs line up with the holes in the axle. When it clicks, the wheel is mounted. Repeat for the other wheel.

    Manual p. 20
An E-Wheel sliding onto the axle, with the push pin and locking pegs highlighted.
  6. Free the cables

Detach both cables from their magnetic mounting position on the PaceSync unit.

    Manual p. 21
Both cables being pulled off their magnetic mounts on the PaceSync.
  7. Place the PaceSync

Fold the front wheel down first. Take the PaceSync with the K logo the right way up. Position it on the nocks and push down, pressing evenly on both sides.

    Manual p. 22
The PaceSync being lowered onto the two E-Nocks.
  8. Click it into place

Push the PaceSync down on the nocks, then release it. The springs turn it into position.

Tip Taking it off again is in the Pack up chapter.

    Manual p. 23
The PaceSync pushed down, then released so the springs turn it into position.
  9. Attach the cables

Insert the magnetic connector of the cable into the plug on the E-Wheelarm. Repeat on the other side.

Important Keep away from pacemakers. The connectors are magnetic.

DoneYour Switch+ is now a Switch-E. Next you will learn how to get it ready for a round.

Based on the Kaddey E-kit Owner’s Manual. Always read the full manual before use.

Get ready for a round

This is what you do every time you head out: set up the trolley, attach the E-kit and power on.

Charge before you go out on the courseYou can follow this walkthrough with the PaceSync as it is, but it needs a full charge before you head out. A full charge lasts about 54 holes.

Your bag

Frame on its own, or with the bag

You can set up with the bag on the frame (about 22 kg to lift) or add the bag afterwards (the frame alone is 7.4 kg). Choose what feels comfortable. The Switch-E works best with a cart-style bag of about 14 kg, and the maximum load is 17 kg.

Set up

Nine steps

  1. Place the trolley on the ground, standing upright.
  2. Pull the front wheel down towards the ground and turn it 90° into position.
  3. Open the frame arm handles, lower the frame arms, then fasten the handles.
  4. Attach both E-Wheels and place them on the ground.
  5. Attach the PaceSync to the trolley.
  6. Connect both magnetic cables to the E-Wheelarms.
  7. Unfold the handlebar in your preferred position. The height changes how the trolley feels (see Driving tips).
  8. Lift the front of the trolley so the front wheel slides underneath and snaps into its locked position.
  9. Power on the PaceSync.
Manual p. 38
Before you walk offCheck the PaceSync is on, both cables are connected, and the front wheel is locked in place.

Power on

Switch the PaceSync on

Power on the PaceSync

To switch off: hold the power button for 5 seconds. The lights go dark and the PaceSync goes into deep sleep.

Manual p. 25

Based on the Kaddey E-kit Owner’s Manual. Always read the full manual before use.

Driving essentials

There are no buttons for go and stop. The PaceSync reads your hands, so a few habits make a big difference.

The essentials

Five things to know

Hand on the handle, and walk

Push to start and speed up. Pull to slow down. Push the handle left or right to steer. Pull until standstill and the parking brake engages.

Handlebar height

Start with the handle indicator two clicks below the last indicator. Higher feels more responsive and sporty. Lower feels gentler, with better control for steering and braking.

Find your pace

Walk with both hands on the handle until you reach a comfortable pace, then release. Give it a few 18-hole rounds. Keep inputs small and gentle at first.

Slopes

Walking up a slope steeper than 15%, keep your hand on the handle so it can’t tip backwards. The remote stops the trolley above 15%.

Speed

Top speed is 12 km/h (6 km/h in reverse). Tight spots, bridges, cars and people: slow to walking speed. Damage at top speed isn’t covered by warranty.

TipWhile steering, apply a little downforce on the handle to unload the front wheel. It makes steering feel effortless.

More detail

Pull while drivingSlows down

Controls with the remote

Pair the remote first (next chapter). Hand and remote are always both active, so you can switch any time.

  • Speed up / down: press per step, hold for continuous. Speed down while stationary reverses.
  • Steer left / right: hold to steer, release to continue straight.
  • Power button: short press stops the trolley. Hold 5 seconds to switch the remote on or off.
  • Celebration button: press while standing still to celebrate a birdie.

Range is over 50 m and the trolley stops if it goes out of range. Keep it within 25 m so you can see obstacles. In tight spots, switch to hand control. The remote switches off after 15 minutes without input.

Carrying the remote: Pocket Lock

A short press on the Pocket Lock locks all buttons (red LED), so you can pocket the remote and swing freely. To unlock, hold any direction button for 2 seconds. If you lock it while driving, the trolley stops and you continue by hand.

Handlebar height and feel
A golfer walking with the Switch-E. Raising the handle makes it responsive, lowering it makes it gentle.

Raise the handle for a more responsive feel, lower it for a gentler one, until it matches how you like to walk. Setting it too high can make steering and braking harder and more tiring. Even if it feels unfamiliar at first, start at the indicated position and adjust from there.

Wet, uneven and steep ground
  • Uphill: stay close to the trolley, especially by remote. In the rain, with the umbrella up, it is more top-heavy and catches the wind. If it tips, the wheels stop automatically. Put it back on level ground.
  • Wet or slippery: stop gradually rather than suddenly, or use the remote’s stop (short press on power). A lower handle position helps prevent wheelspin when stopping uphill.
  • Starting on uneven ground: start with all three wheels on the ground and don’t lift the front wheel more than 10 cm. A big lift can make it misread the slope and pause acceleration for 5 to 10 seconds. Keep walking steadily and it recovers by itself.
Driving profiles

The Switch-E has four pre-installed profiles. Your choice is remembered, even after switching off. Short press the upper function button to go up a profile, the bottom one to go down.

  • Mode 1 (factory): reacts early to a light hand. Best for most rounds on dry, even ground.
  • Mode 2: needs a firmer push and pull, with more power for steep slopes, thick or wet grass and rough terrain.
  • Modes 3 and 4: reserved for future profiles delivered through the app.
Freewheel mode

In freewheel mode the motors spin freely so you push by hand. For reversing or short repositioning, short-press the power button when the PaceSync is on. It returns to powered mode after a few metres. For longer distances, power off and unplug both cables.

Not on the courseDon’t use freewheel with the PaceSync connected for more than one hole. Damage from that isn’t covered by warranty.

Based on the Kaddey E-kit Owner’s Manual. Always read the full manual before use.

Pair the app and the remote

You do this once. Both pairings are stored, so you won’t need to repeat them for every round.

Pair before you pack upYou can do this with an uncharged PaceSync, but do it now, before you take the Switch-E apart again.

FAQ

Quick answers

Can I use the Switch-E without the app?

Yes. The E-kit works on its own. The app is optional and adds extra features. Software updates come only through the app.

How long does a charge last?

About 54 holes, depending on the course conditions. A full charge from empty takes about 5 hours.

When should I charge it?

After every round, and within 48 hours. Check the level before you set off.

Why does it feel different on a different handlebar height?

Because of the trolley’s geometry, a higher setting feels more responsive and sporty and a lower one feels calmer. Start one click below the last indicator, then adjust.

Can I leave the trolley in freewheel and walk the course?

No. Use freewheel only for short repositioning. For longer distances switch the PaceSync off and unplug both cables so the motors can’t feed charge back into the battery.

What if the battery dies mid-round?

Unplug both cables and push the trolley by hand. This protects the system.

Where do I find my serial number?

Model CU-01-A, and a serial number starting with KPS, printed on the product label. Have it ready when you contact support.

Still stuck?
